No wedding to shoot this weekend just gone so we took the opportunity on Sunday to meet up with Rachel and Patrick in Henley on Thames whose wedding we are shooting in May of next year. Rachel and Patrick are friends of Nolan and Sarah and had seen me and Jon in action shooting their wedding in April of this year so it was great when they contacted us to cover their big day next year as well.
Henley on Thames is obviously very famous (amongst other things) for events that happen on the river there (Henley Royal Regatta) and Rachel and Patrick are making the most of their great location (they live a stones throw from the river) with a wedding right on the edge of the Thames and indeed for part of the day actually on the Thames with transport to and from the church and venue happening by boat, very cool!
Obviously they picked the right year by having the wedding next year as this years floods would rule out the transport via boat due to the current very high river levels, I am sure this wont be a problem next year, we’ve had 2 years worth of rain already this summer.
Anyway we had a great walk around the grounds of the venue and a look at the room for the wedding breakfast and as you can see from the photo’s its a stunning location with great views over the river. We took a walk through town up to where guests will catch the boat to the church on the day and then also had a trip out to the very picturesque church where the ceremony will take place.
All in all a very nice day spent in some very rare (this year at least) British sunshine.
