Clare and David, I hope your final wedding plans are going well and I am really looking forward to coming back down to Portsmouth later this month and hoping for similar weather to what we had last week, with maybe just a bit more cloud cover!

HMS Warrior - Not many venues can claim to have canons in the reception room

We had a look around the church and the reception venue and heres a few photos that we took as we walked around the grounds, really looking forward to Saturday, its gonna be greeeaaat.

These nice shots of Andy and Mathilde are followed by some less nice shots of all of us at the gite the night before, dont ask about the tied hankies and string vests… lets just say we had quite a few drinks!

Henley on Thames is obviously very famous (amongst other things) for events that happen on the river there (Henley Royal Regatta) and Rachel and Patrick are making the most of their great location (they live a stones throw from the river) with a wedding right on the edge of the Thames and indeed for part of the day actually on the Thames with transport to and from the church and venue happening by boat, very cool!

Obviously they picked the right year by having the wedding next year as this years floods would rule out the transport via boat due to the current very high river levels, I am sure this wont be a problem next year, we’ve had 2 years worth of rain already this summer.

Anyway we had a great walk around the grounds of the venue and a look at the room for the wedding breakfast and as you can see from the photo’s its a stunning location with great views over the river. We took a walk through town up to where guests will catch the boat to the church on the day and then also had a trip out to the very picturesque church where the ceremony will take place.

All in all a very nice day spent in some very rare (this year at least) British sunshine.

So last Sunday after meeting a lovely couple and discussing their photography requirements for their wedding that is taking place later ths year we did the usual thing and had a look around the venue to see what photo opportunities it had to offer.

After sussing out the venue we took a ride over to St Nicolas’s Church in Alcester which is where the ceremony for the couple we had just met is taking place. It’s a great church very well maintained and well lit with some great photo opportunities and again we had a good a look around for shooting angles but I think Jon lost the plot a little bit whilst we were there.

I’m not quite sure what he was imagining when he was shooting this angle ! I think the chances of getting the Bride and Groom swinging from the lights (not to mention the church allowing such a thing) are pretty low, or maybe he was just tired ? Either way I think I better keep a closer eye on him from now on.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Ascot and the grounds of Englemere were stunning as we had a wander around and picked out some shot locations for next year.

Its going to seem like a long wait before we shoot this wedding (August 2008) but we will look forward to it greatly with such a great location to worth with and for such a lovely couple its sure to be a fun day for everyone!

When Sarah and Nolan arrived the weather was still a very British Wet and Windy, both with a capital W so we decided to have a look around the inside of the house first and hope that the weather would break for us (it never did though).

The room where the civil ceremony will be held is stunning.

In front of one of the many open fires the house had to offer was definitely the best place to be on Sunday with the rain falling and the wind driving it at you sideways.

The weather never did actually break but Sarah and Nolan bravely volunteered to show us round the grounds which were just as nice as the inside of the house.

Looking forward to April the 14th guys, weve got our fingers and toes crossed for better weather but I am sure with the venue that you have chosen it will be a fanastic day no matter what!
